Though fairly good natured in comparison with some of her half siblings, Ella is definitely a handful. Off the track, she will dance around you instead of walking next to you, no matter how many times you stop to circle and straighten up. She spooks at the most random, silly, non scary things imaginable, like the creaking of a barn door, or the meowing of a cat. On the track she is often full of energy and always keen to get moving. She is easily distracted however and needs constant reminders to keep her focused on the task at hand, although her focus greatly improves when she is faced with a few competitors.

As a two year old, Ella was gate shy due to her tendency to spook, but now she has matured she loads hesitantly and breaks fast. She likes to be close to the front but because she has trouble keeping focus, she is not a front runner. Ella makes her move as late as possible for the same reasons, and often when she wins it is by a small margin.
