Roy is a complete showoff and also a bit of a bully. He uses his considerable height and bulk to his advantage and intimidates smaller horses in races and otherwise by crowding them. Matching his strength, Roy is also very energetic. He hates to be cooped up in a stall as he would much rather be out on the track or in a pasture big enough for him to gallop in. On the track he has days where he is relatively easy to handle, but usually he needs a strong and firm rider to keep him in check. Off the track, he is not too hard to handle as long as you are not afraid of him, know what you are doing and watch out for your feet.

He doesn't need to have a wide lead margin, just being a nose ahead is fine for him. Roy breaks away from the rest of the field as soon as the stretch is straight out before him and sprints ahead.
