Sugar has been aptly named as she tends to be easily excitable and ever energetic. She is also a sweet natured filly who has never bitten or kicked anyone, despite the way her dam sometimes behaves. Handled from the ground, Sugar's only fault is her eagerness to get everywhere. She often has to be turned in circles just to be slowed down. On the track however, her forward moving is perfect. She is happy to follow direction, except when it comes to slowing down if she hasn't won the race. Sugar hates losing, so she'll still try to win after the race ends.

Sweet Sugar Cane is a grade one ex racehorse who excelled in dirt sprints. After retiring with a record of 72-21-9-11, this stallion has sired some of the best sprinters on the track. G1 HOF mare Deadly Desires, G1 mare Windbreaker, G1 mare Afterglow and yet another G1 mare Sugar Jayde, to name a few, are among his offspring. Rush Hour is a grade one mare who retired with a record of 43-14-18-10 and won the Girl's Festival, Star Festival and Breeder's Cup Sprint.

Like her dam, Sugar simply has to lead the race. If she's not in the lead, she thinks she's lost and runs faster and faster, until she takes the lead again. Sugar breaks from the gate like lightning from a thunderstorm, and goes right to the lead. She makes her move late as possible, always ensuring she's at least a head in front of the next horse.
