Galaxy's name was previously a nickname for 'The Innocent Skier' a colt that was co owned by Stride Of Perfection Stables and Cold Creek Incorporated. When Sarah purchased Galaxy, she could think of no better name for him and sought permission to use the name from Amber, owner of Stride Of Perfection Stables. The colt has certainly proven himself worthy of the name with an unsurpassed work ethic and a great attitude whether on the track or off of it. Galaxy is easily handled and unlike many of our horses, he won't stand on toes, he won't bite, and he won't buck, rear or bolt. With other horses, he is very easy going but holds his own against the bullies - he even sticks up for some of the less brave horses. Galaxy has intelligence unlike any horse we've had, and he is competitive by nature - it is one of the many reasons he is such a pleasure to work with.

Galaxy was picked up from the sales as an unhandled yearling, with his overseas bloodlines unknown. What is clear is that this colt has someone or something special in his lineage, because he has blossomed into a very good looking and intelligent colt with obvious aptitude for racing. More research will be done on his breeding before he is himself retired to stud.

Galaxy has never quite grasped the concept of breaking from the gate fast, and he takes a minute to get going. Therefore he runs as a closer, bringing up the rear of the pack until the last three and a half furlongs, when he begins to creep up on the outside. By the time the rest of the field starts to make their move, Galaxy is already flat out with plenty more to give. He stays on the outside to keep his path clear, and the front runners don't even see him coming. By the time they all know he's there, Galaxy is usually well clear of any late challengers.
