Limerence
"Lim"
#1694 Y14 2yo 16hh Filly
Lim is all fight or flight. She can be quite a challenge to catch even in a reasonably small paddock, and even once caught she will try to make a break for it. If she is unsuccessful she becomes moody and will bite if you don't have quick reflexes. She is afraid of large birds, and hates dogs. But you'll find her quite happily snoozing with a cat in her stall or even on her back. On the track it takes a lot of little exercises to get her focused before a race, so as a spectator you'll see her rider turning her through circles and figure eights before heading up to the gate. If these exercises weren't done, she would be a nightmare to control and she'd probably sprint start to finish. That being said, Lim is an intelligent, independent filly. She knows her job and she knows it well, so once settled and focused, her rider only needs to her the signal and she does the rest.
Created x Created
Lim was bred overseas, so her bloodlines are unknown in this country. Her parents did however gift her with excellent conformation and stunning abilities as a racehorse. More research will be done on this filly's lineage before she retires to the breeding shed.
Race Record: 1-0-1-0 (Maiden)
Preferences: Turf, 8-11 Furlongs / Midpack
Lim lacks the focus of a front runner or preceder, because she needs to be constantly challenged to keep it interesting. Therefore, after being worked through more figure eights and circles, she starts from the gate averagely. Then she runs in the midpack position until she is released on the final turn into the home stretch, and then driven on in the last few hundred metres of the race. That way she always has a mark to focus on and beat.
