IMPASSIONED NUT WORKS FOR THE RISING STAR STAKES
Chill, dude. Chris tried to sooth the big bay colt, but it was pretty easy to tell that the horse wasn't relaxed by his voice. It was in fact well known that Impassioned Nut hated him. The colt had hated him from the moment he saw him, because Chris's girlfriend was Imp's groom and the horse seemed to be in love with her. Natalie found the whole thing amusing, of course. She'd gotten Chris a chance to show his skills at Star Thoroughbreds and they'd put him on a few horses in a riding test after his initial job interview. Imp had been one of those horses. Now Chris had been named his main rider and they were racing for the first time this weekend.
Imp's ears were flat against his skull. It was taking all of Chris's skill to keep the thoroughbred moving in the right direction - he was trying every few seconds to turn and run back to Natalie. They'd been working together only a few weeks, and it was going to take a lot more training for the colt to get past this.
