Bluebell is quite a sweet tempered mare. She's not at all aggressive; she's never bitten or kicked anyone. She's a great mum, and when she doesn't have her own foal she is often helping the other mares out with theirs. We often have her babysitting the weanlings and yearlings because of this - she's great at teaching them manners. Unfortunately, Bluebell only made it to the track once. It was on that day that her racing career ended - she took a turn too fast and fell, right under the feet of the rest of the field.

Bluebell's dam, Makybe Diva, was the first 3 time winner of the Melbourne Cup. She retired with a record of 36-15-4-3 and with a number of awards, including Australian Racehorse of the Year, Australian Champion Stayer, Australian Champion Filly and Mare, Australian Middle Distance Champion, SA Thoroughbred Breeders Horse of the Year, and was inducted in the Australian Racing Hall of Fame.
