Our History Star Thoroughbreds wasn't always Star Thoroughbreds. A while back, the stables were known as Green Horse Stables, and were home to a number of school horses and novice riders. Sarah and Marissa Star's parents, who owned the riding school, died in a car crash, leaving the stables to the girls. Marissa couldn't deal with it at first, and ran away to the city to drink and party away her grief. Sarah then took over the family business, teaching children and adults to ride.
After just over a year, Sarah decided to go to the annual thoroughbred auction at the Green Horse Fields Jockey Club. It was there she met Bank On Silver, who no one bid on. Sarah put up her hand and bid on the filly, and took her home for a mere $2,500. Silver was two years old, and fit and healthy. Her breeding was nothing special; which was the reason she didn't go for a big price. Sarah however, had seen something in the filly. She knew about racing, and had always wanted to ride in races. Up until her parents died, she had been training to get her apprentice jockey licence.
Sarah continued to train Silver, and after she obtained her licence, entered the filly in her first race. Sarah rode her herself, to a spectacular victory.
