You can pretty much sum this horse up in just a few words. Mastermind, and cute. He's extremely intelligent, and even at a young age, he was quite the escape artist. Nowadays, we have a lot of preventative measures in place, like higher fences and extra 'horse proof' locks. It would hardly surprise us though, if Sparky could break out of a starting gate stall, given the time.. On the track, he uses his intelligence to navigate the race. He shows off a bit, but doesn't actually get worked up unlike some horses. Off the track he's a trouble maker, from throwing food buckets from his stall over into the barn aisle to playing 'opposite day,' where everything he does is opposite to what his handlers want him to do. When he's not being annoying, Sparky is actually quite a sweetie.

Sparky isn't too fussed what position he runs in. He usually has his own master plan, and fights hard if his rider doesn't agree. In his mind, as long as he gets in front in the final stretch, whatever happened for him to get there was his grand idea. If he doesn't win, it's like he thinks it was someone else's fault.
