On the track, like all horses, Ignacia has her on and off days. During an on day, Ida is spectacular. She doesn't fight with her rider, she doesn't spook at very much, and she runs the way she's supposed to. However, on an off day, this girl is a bit of a joker. She fights everything when she's in one of her moods, whether it involves grooming or actual racing. She tends to dance around and work herself up before getting in the gate, and during these little 'dances', she has been known to throw in a few bucks and perhaps a rear or two, depending on how mischievous she's feeling. On a bad day, she's very aggressive when running, and not in a good way. Unless she has a very strong rider on her back, she'll run to the front of the pack and run out her steam.
Off the track, Ida is a playful, affectionate, attention-loving girl in the barn; she is a favorite of many of the stable hands. She has a tendency to pick up her food bucket and walk around in her stall with it in her mouth, waiting to be fed and she absolutely loves drinking out of the hose during a bath. In the field, she plays, sometimes not too gently, with the other horses. If she does get a bit rough, she doesn't do it out of aggression, but out of excitement. She requires a good run a few days out of the week to keep her fit and in line. All in all, her temperament off the track is completely different compared to when she is racing.

Ida likes to break fast. Given her way, Ida would be the leader of the race all the time. The problem with her being in this position, however, is that she likes to widen her lead throughout the race, and then she would tire dramatically the rest of the field would catch up in the end. Instead, Ida runs as a closer. This way she conserves her energy and really works hard to overtake everyone in the stretch.
