When we first heard Stride Of Perfection Stables was having a little sale, we hitched up the trailer and got our butts over there. The Innocent Skier was the horse who caught our eye first, but then Windy caught our hearts. The little fifteen hand chestnut had a gleam in her eye that told us she was a winner, and we never looked back. Windy showed us speed from day one, and so she should - she's related to a fair few fine sprinters. When she runs, she lowers her head, flattens her ears and lowers herself to the ground, making herself as aerodynamic as possible. She likes to hold her tail high in the air when she runs, rather than clamp it down like most horses do, so there is a beautiful long red tail flying behind her like a banner. She's a vivacious little thing, with enough spirit and charm and sweetness for five horses, let alone one.

Windy has a very versatile running style. She can run anywhere from first place to last place, boxed on the inside or wide on the outside. We tend to run her behind the leaders to midpack position usually, as she breaks well but not particularly fast or slow.
