We always knew Sophia would be a big girl, from the moment we decided to breed The Natural to Born To Fly. Both horses stood at seventeen hands, so it was inevitable that she would too. We also knew that Born To Fly's infectious "divatude" would also rub off on the filly, which is the reason she's so sassy. Born To Soar loves running more than she loves food, which is saying something about any horse. The sensation of speeding past the rest of the field with the crowd screaming and the wind roaring in her ears in a wonderful feeling. Sophia gets so happy when she runs. She hates to be restricted by her jockey in any way, but doesn't mind running behind another horse in the beginning and middle of the race.

The Natural is a ex grade one racehorse entered in the Hall Of Fame. He was very versatile, and has passed this on to all of his offspring so far. He won races such as the Dream Cup, Breeder's Cup Mile and Breeder's Cup Turf, and retired with a record of 75-34-17-15. Born To Fly was also grade one, unfortunately retired early due to an injury. She won such races as Eagle Cup, but due to her loss of record we can not be more specific. She retired with a record of approximately 20 wins in 44 starts.

Sophia prefers to start fast, and settle into the race just behind the front runners. She doesn't like much interference from her jockey, so Sarah tries to be as subtle as possible when cueing her to do anything during a race. When the leaders tire and drop back, Soph begins her run, starting with just a small but noticeable bid for the lead, then a massive burst of speed. She likes to be a loner in the lead, and once she gets going, she won't let anyone pass her by, no matter what it takes
