PASSIONATE FLYER AND NATURALLY CHARISMATIC WORK FOR THE MAY TURF STAKES STALKER'S FURY WORKS FOR THE PREAKNESS CHAMPION STAKES
Blaze and Passionate Flyer were really getting on well together. The only problem was, they hadn't been able to score a win yet. Prince's record was full of seconds and thirds, but he had only one win. Blaze had been working with the colt for a few months now, and had a feeling that Prince would pull off a win any time now. After all, as he had been informed, the careers of Prince's dam and sire hadn't really taken off until their three year old seasons. Prince was just a bit of a late bloomer, that was all.
Marissa was feeling a bit ambitious, having entered Stalker's Fury in the Preakness Champion Stakes. The three year old filly had finally pulled off her maiden win back at the end of March, then two weeks ago run out of steam in a race too long for her and come in fifth. To say she was fired up and ready to go was an understatement. Stalker was raring to sprint for miles. It was an excellent opportunity to test her against top quality horses her age, and they were both colts.
Stella and Naturally Charismatic were over the moon following their two wings in April. Stella finally felt like she was getting somewhere with the four year old filly. Now after two weeks off, she was due to run in the May Turf Stakes alongside Passionate Flyer, who was in a similar slump to what Charis had been in.
