GEORGIE'S GIRL WORKS FOR THUNDERSTORM STAKES ALONG WITH STREAKS OF PASSION AND SPITTING IMAGE
After racing three weeks in a row in April, all resulting in second places, GG had taken three weeks off and was now due to run in the Thunderstorm Stakes. The filly was having a good year, although she had not won since the first week of March, so Stella would definitely be gunning for a win in their next race. Today they would be working with fellow grade four turfers, Streaks Of Passion and Spitting Image.
Half brother to Furious Passion through their sire, Streak was having a really good year. He'd run second twice and third twice in February and March, and since then had won his last four starts. He wasn't racing this week, after winning his race last week, but he would definitely give Georgie's Girl a good run for her money. Olivia was extremely happy with the four year old colt, and hoped to ride him all the way to grade one by Breeder's Cup time.
Spitting Image, ridden by Blaze, was having a good year too. Not as good as her stable mates, but still good. She'd won twice in March, and hadn't won since, despite running three times. It was disappointing for Blaze, but sometimes the filly just didn't feel like running. He had his suspicions that she would be better off as an eventer or something.
