Marissa checked Nature's Dream's workout schedule for today and decided to completely ignore it. She crossed it out and replaced it simply with the word 'beach'. It was time to do something different with Dream. He was three years old now and he needed to be challenged. The horse didn't seem to be benefiting from track work, so he would get a real workout at the beach. Marissa left the office and went straight to the tack room, collecting the saddle they used for beach rides and Dream's normal workout bridle. Arriving at his stall, she dropped the saddle on top of the stall door and draped the bridle over it, then entered the stall to check the colt's legs and feet quickly for any abnormalities. He was fine.
Five minutes later, Dream was tacked up and ready to go. Marissa lead him to the mounting block and hopped aboard. She hadn't seen anyone except stable hands, so there was no one to stop her going. Her legs touched Dream's sides gently and the colt was off trotting. He headed for the track until she redirected him. The colt's attitude suddenly changed and he was suddenly excited. He hadn't had a workout off the track in sometime, so this was something great. His chestnut coat shone in the morning light, his muscles rippling underneath his skin.
They reached the trees, and Marissa asked the colt to canter. Dream did so happily, kicking up his heels as he went. Marissa relaxed in the saddle, enjoying being able to sit down while riding for once.
