Imp is grumpy at the best of times, to say the least. Off the track, he is known to bite anyone who gets close to his stall without a peace offering in the form of something delicious. For other horses, there is no warning before a swift kick or nip if they are within reach. He is an aggressive colt, and he likes his personal space. He is particularly girthy and has drawn blood on more than one occasion. If there is one person he trusts, it's his groom, Natalie. Unsurprisingly, he thoroughly hates her boyfriend, Chris, who just happens to be his jockey. On the track, Imp is almost unstoppable. If there's one thing he truly loves, it's pounding down the stretch at full speed, flying past other horses.

Impassioned Wind is a grade one stallion who retired with a record of 92-52-12-23 and sired Triple Crown Champion Furious Passion. The True Nut is a Hall of Fame inducted mare who won the Breeder's Cup Filly and Mare Turf and retired with a record of 77-22-22-21.

Imp breaks quickly from the gate and takes up position behind the leaders. He is at times pushy and is not afraid of playing bumper. He enjoys intimidation tactics and often uses them to his advantage. He makes his move fairly late, waiting for the majority of horses to be all around him but not in front of him before he takes off.
